Produce Manager

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for managing and developing all aspects of the Produce Department including sales, margin and labor as well as hiring, training, coaching and conducting staff performance reviews.  They will monitor and control all costs and expenses for the department through proper ordering, inventory control and minimizing shrink.  They will ensure a clean and safe working environment and that customer service is of the highest quality.  They will ensure all wet racks are stocked and clean during business hours and will assist customers as needed.  They will ensure proper rotation and quality of produce including trimming and culling of all product.  This position will maintain constant communication with the Store Director on all department issues as needed.

Position Requirements:

Must have 3-5 years prior experience working in a Produce department in a healthy grocery retail environment.  Requires the highest level of customer service at all times.  Must have the ability to work in high volume conditions with excellent attention to detail.  Requires expert organizational skills and the ability to multitask.  Should have advanced knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.  Must be able to push and pull fully loaded hand trucks as well as be able to lift 50lbs. Dependability, reliability and teamwork a must!
